What we collect
An account holds your email address, an optional display name and a hashed password unless you log in with Google. When you submit audio we store the resulting transcript, its timestamps, the automatic summary on Pro and with a 12-hour pass, and basic metadata (file name, duration, detected language).
Payments
When you buy Pro or a pass, ChainPayments receives your email address and the order, and we keep a record of the payment.
Using the site without an account
A random token stored in your browser keeps your guest files together. We do not store your IP address in our database, only a keyed hash of it, which we use to count the free files allowed each day. Your IP address is used for abuse checks, is sent to Cloudflare, which serves this site and runs the bot check, and appears in our server access logs, which we keep for 14 days. Guest transcripts are deleted after 7 days unless you create an account.
What happens to your audio
- Transcription runs with Whisper on GPU servers we operate ourselves. Your audio is never sent to a third-party transcription or AI provider.
- Uploaded audio files are deleted from our servers as soon as processing finishes, whether it succeeds or fails.
- For URL submissions we download the audio only for the duration of processing.
Language models
For free and guest transcripts, a short excerpt of the text (never the audio) goes to a language model to detect the language. To write the automatic summary on Pro and with a 12-hour pass, the transcript text (never the audio) is processed by a large language model API. If you prefer that your text never leaves our infrastructure, contact us and we will turn summaries off for your account.
Who can see your transcripts
Only you. Account transcripts are private to your account, and guest transcripts open only in the browser that uploaded them. Transcripts are not published, indexed or shared. Our operators can access stored data solely for support and abuse prevention.
Emails
We send account and service email only: your sign-up code, password resets and changes, receipts for Pro and passes, a note when a transcript finishes or fails, and replies to your support tickets and messages. No marketing lists. Guests get no email.
Deletion
You can delete any transcript in your account from its page at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Guest transcripts are deleted on their own after 7 days. Our job records keep each file's name and length after its transcript is gone. To delete your whole account, contact us.
